The Quiet Room

How quiet the room, how calm the atmosphere;
Surely God's very presence has dwelling here.
May they who come to seek for peace and rest
Find consciousness enriched and amply blest.

May they who seek courage to make them strong
To face all dangers, rectify the wrong,
Be lifted up on wings of pure desire
And feel their spirit burn with holy fire.

So, quiet room, they leave your sheltering walls
To face the world outside, and urgent calls
To give to those they meet with heavier care
The strength which they have gained and now would share.
