I find I cannot let any more...
I find I cannot let any more time pass without expressing in writing my sincere gratitude to God for progress gained in learning to live Christian Science and to use it in all my problems.
Over two years ago I had a very definite proof that God does govern and direct us. In the middle of the year I was asked to close a small business, which I operated on a college campus, until I was able to express more effectively in my everyday living the qualities of order. At this time many bills needed immediate attention. This business was from a human standpoint necessary as a means of helping me attend college.
That night I had quite a mental struggle. I was tempted at first to be resentful toward the person who had imposed the requirement upon me. Then Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 215), "Christian Science demands order and truth," came forcefully to mind. I realized I was not expressing order in my thinking or in my personal appearance, belongings, and so forth. If Christian Science demanded order, I was certainly not living up to the standard rightfully expected of me as a student of Christian Science. Neither had I fulfilled the other demand, for obviously I was thinking that the closing of a business meant supply would stop. However, I soon realized that God continually cares for us regardless of the material situation, and that the closing of my business was no sign that God's law had stopped operating. The truth is that God's law is ever operative.
The next morning I awoke completely healed of a false sense of responsibility. Furthermore, the habit of being careless was seen as no part of my true being, and, in its place, neatness and order began to be manifested.
My business was reopened at the end of a week. Immediately the profits doubled, and all bills were paid. Since then, year by year the business has continued increasingly to serve the community, and to help me with various expenses here at college. Moreover, the qualities of order are continuing to unfold and to be established in my life.
This experience was helpful in many ways, especially because it proved to me again the truth as given us by Mrs. Eddy in the last line of the spiritual interpretation of the Lord's Prayer (Science and Health, p. 17), "For God is infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All."
I have also had many beautiful and complete physical healings in Christian Science.
I should like also to express loving gratitude for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and in a college organization, for the impersonal healing love expressed at our church services, for our periodicals, and for Mrs. Eddy's priceless gift to the world, Christian Science.—(Miss) Margaret Wagg, Palm Beach, Florida.
