I should like to express my gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, by testifying to the healing power of Christian Science.

A number of years ago our eldest daughter became very ill with influenza. After failing to help her by my own work, I asked for help from a practitioner. She grew steadily worse until it seemed as though she would pass on.

There was such a sense of fear and depression in the home, it was as though dark, heavy clouds were engulfing us. Her father, who is not a student of Christian Science, although kindly towards it, said: "The child will die. If she is not better by morning I shall send her to the hospital. You have tried Christian Science, and it has not helped her. Now I feel I should try something else." My heart sank, but I could see his point of view. I said, "Very well, but give us until morning, for I know that Christian Science heals!" Then I fairly ran to a telephone, asked the one who was working to cease and called another practitioner, requesting that she come to the house.

She arrived in a short time, and I shall never forget the peace and harmony that came with her. After talking to us she sat by the child's bed and treated her for perhaps half an hour. The little girl, who had been delirious and semiconscious, dropped off into a peaceful sleep, and rested quietly until morning, when she awakened healed.

Much gratitude was expressed by every member of the family, including her father. There was no convalescence. I truly do not believe she would be with us today, had it not been for the loving work of the practitioner.

We have had many other healings, and each one has been brought about through radical reliance upon God as our only physician. These include healings of scarlet fever, dislocation of the spine, sprained ankle, and the results of an accident with a twenty-two caliber rifle. In the last instance the bullet went through the foot. In two weeks' time the foot was healed, and the child could tap dance. Croup was overcome in half an hour after the truth was declared. Constipation, sick headaches, indigestion, and many other difficulties have been healed. We are very grateful for the help given us by practitioners.

I have been a member of The Mother Church and a branch church for twenty years, and have had the privilege of serving in many capacities. I am humbly grateful for every activity in the Christian Science church.—(Mrs.) Florence T. Skinner, Long Beach, California.
