As a child I was led by divine...
As a child I was led by divine guidance to the home of a friend where a few students of Christian Science met each Sunday. I shall never cease to be grateful for this, for soon my entire family took up the study of this Science.
One of my greatest blessings is being able to read the Bible understandingly in connection with the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
Soon after my mother and I took up the study of this wonderful religion, I was examined along with my classmates by the county health doctor and nurse. It seemed from their report that I was in a pretty bad physical condition. I had tonsillitis, decayed teeth, and bad eyes, and was over thirty pounds underweight. These defects disappeared without any special work being done, and the next time we were examined they said that I was physically perfect. This is just one of countless proofs I have had that Christian Science heals.
I can never express my joy and gratitude for being loosed from the bondage of fear, and for the joyousness and peace of mind which belong to earnest students of this Science.
I am grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science, and my greatest desire is to deserve the name "Christian Scientist."— (Mrs.) Jane Maxwell Williams, Bastrop, Louisiana.
It is with gratitude that I verify the testimony given by my daughter. At the time of which she speaks I began to read Science and Health and to study the Lesson-sermons given in theChristian Science Quarterly. In a short time I knew I had found that for which I had been seeking, a livable, practical religion. My happiness knew no bounds, and soon each member of my family began to depend entirely on Christian Science for healing.
Before long there came a testing time; in rapid succession I witnessed the healing of tonsillitis, appendicitis, typhoid fever, broken bones, and many minor ailments. Some of these healings were brought about by the work of Christian Science practitioners; others through our own work and study. At no time did we weaken in our new-found faith, but we relied entirely on Christian Science for healing as well as supply.
I am humbly grateful for the privilege of class instruction from a consecrated teacher, and for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.—(Mrs.) Willie F. Maxwell,Pelly, Texas.
