"Glory be to God, and peace to the struggling hearts!" writes Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health (p. 45). And she adds, "Christ hath rolled away the stone from the door of human hope and faith, and through the revelation and demonstration of life in God, hath elevated them to possible at-one-ment with the spiritual idea of man and his divine Principle, Love."

When I first started to study Christian Science the world seemed very dark to me. We had just lost our little boy, and as far as I was concerned the sun had ceased shining. A friend recommended that I try Christian Science, and to please her I went to see a Christian Science practitioner. She was very kind, and asked me if I wanted her to work for me. I consented, but thought to myself, She can do me no good; no one can. I read the Lesson-Sermon dutifully every morning, and went to church regularly. At first I could feel no lessening of the heavy load in my heart. Then, gradually, each time I read I felt as though someone were telling me good news, and my heart started to sing, All is well; everything is all right!

From then on, things began to improve. Old ailments, including a weak heart, varicose veins, and catarrh, left me. Our two little girls were born, and, from the time the elder was three months old, Christian Science was the only healing agent they ever had. An older daughter and the younger two are good Christian Scientists. The youngest one, who is married and far away from home, has found Christian Science a help and guide when moving to new places and a strong tower in times of trouble.

If I were to fill many pages, I could not tell all the healings and blessings we have had. My husband had inflammatory rheumatism. Since he was not a Christian Scientist at that time, my father advised me to call a doctor, which I did against my better judgment. The doctor recommended an operation. We arrived at the hospital a little early, and suddenly I said to my husband, "Let's get out of here." It came to me that our procedure was all wrong.

Although it had taken three men to help him into the hospital, he walked out unaided. We walked eight or nine blocks to a streetcar line, and a good half mile after getting off it. For three weeks he went to town every morning to a practitioner's office for treatment. He ate well and felt better, but every afternoon took a nap. Each time he awoke his hand was very much swollen. One day while he slept I kept wondering wherein we were falling down in our thinking. Suddenly it came to me not to look at his hand when he awakened. I realized there was no error to look at. I wakened him and said: "I know where we are wrong. Do not look for error, because man is perfect." From that day on he was healed.

I was healed of gallstones overnight when I declared the truth and left the result to God.

I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for giving us this wonderful guide to a happy life. The illumination that Science and Health throws on the Bible makes reading of the two books the joy of our life. In closing this testimony I say, "Praise God from whom all blessings flow." It is thirty years since I came into Science, and I am very grateful that in all that time it has been my constant guide and help.— (Mrs.) Willa Young, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
