In rereading Mrs. Eddy's letter...

In rereading Mrs. Eddy's letter "To Correspondents" in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 155), [ saw the necessity for obedience in writing for our periodicals, and I realized too that my contribution need not wait, but that I could make it now through a testimony of healing.

Five years ago my husband and I were vacationing in a northern city. One evening after we had returned to our apartment I became conscious that my whole body was covered with eczema. My first thought was one of fear and dismay that I should be the channel for an error that might force us to give up our long-planned-for vacation. Then immediately came the realization that there was no way in which mortal mind could operate to cause me to be sick, or to separate us from the good that was rightfully ours. I asked for Christian Science treatment and went on reading my Science periodicals. Within half an hour the condition had been healed and I was entirely free.

In thinking over this healing the next day I remembered that about fourteen years before I had had the same difficulty in the same city. That time it took a whole week, with a practitioner working for me all the time, to overcome this very painful trouble. And I realized that although I had always had Christian Science and had experienced innumerable healings, greater growth had taken place in my thought since I had joined the church and had made a sincere effort to live by the By-Laws and Tenets of The Mother Church, especially Article VIII, Section 1, of the Manual and the sixth tenet.
