I wish to express my gratitude...

I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received from Christian Science during many years.

When our daughter was a small child she was sliding down the fender of the car in which she and I were waiting, when some dray horses, without a driver, came tearing down the street and ran onto the car. I got out and tried to rescue her but could not; the horses were pawing and kicking astride the car and she was underneath them. Just then a man ran up and lifted her away. We put her right to bed, and she did not awake or speak for about eight hours, and then the first thing she said was, "I knew God was taking care of me, mother." She was uninjured.

While we were visiting my sister, the same little girl awakened one night with croup. My husband immediately telephoned for a doctor trying to get in touch with three different ones, but not one was available. My sister, who is a Christian Scientist, was in the meanwhile doing mental work, and by the time my husband finished telephoning, the child was healed.

During the influenza epidemic, when we were again visiting this sister, I awoke one morning in great pain and misery. I did not say anything about it to my husband, for he was not a student of Christian Science and would have called a doctor, but I told my sister of the trouble. Because the telephone was situated in the apartment where everyone could hear the conversation, she went to a near-by store to telephone the practitioner. I appeared when I could so that my husband would not think anything was amiss. We had made arrangements to go out to dinner, so when my sister went out the second time to call the practitioner she told him of our plans. He told her to tell me to put my hand in God's and go forward. I was healed at once. On our way to dinner the car door was slammed on my daughter's hand, but through the loving prayer of my sister all was well by the time we were having our meal, and we were all very happy. As in the experience of the three Hebrews there was no "smell of fire" —no aftereffect.

I am very grateful to God and to Christian Science for these and many other blessings, including a healing of broken ribs through the consecrated work of a faithful practitioner, who has stood by me through many trials; for the privilege of helping in our group of Christian Science students, who are holding services in a near-by town, and for the fact that these services were previously held in our home for three years. I am grateful for the faithful help our practitioners are always so willing to give; to Mrs. Eddy for her revelation; and for the periodicals, especially The Christian Science Monitor.—(Mrs.) Rebecca L. Myers, Cayley, Alberta, Canada.
