Each succeeding day finds me increasingly grateful to God for making available to human consciousness His Christ, which was so perfectly explained and demonstrated in the life of Jesus. The Science of his words and works has been revealed in this age through the discovery of Christian Science by our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

Christian Science has provided me with two outstanding blessings. It has rescued me from the bondage of superstition and idolatry, and given to me a scientifically demonstrable religion, revealing God as unchanging Love.

"A minutely described disease costs many a man his earthly days of comfort. What a price for human knowledge!" writes our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, on page 197 of Science and Health. It was such an experience that led me to the adoption of Christian Science in 1913. At that time I was instantaneously healed of fear of a well-known intestinal disease which had distressed me at frequent intervals from boyhood. For fourteen years this fear occurred at intervals with increasing intensity, until the pain became so great that I felt forced to consult a surgeon. On my way to his office, I met a friend, who listened to my frightened story and recommended that the problem be submitted to Christian Science. The recommendation was acted upon and an instantaneous healing resulted. This incident was accompanied by an abrupt abandonment of the use of medicine by me and my family.

All of us have been blessed by spiritual progress manifested in abundant, continuous supply and a marked diminution of the worries of human experience. Among the physical healings in Christian Science experienced by us have been those of diphtheria, nervous prostration, abscess of the throat, measles, chicken pox, influenza, boils, felon, ptomaine poisoning, oak poisoning, croup, and whooping cough.

For the blessings and privileges arising from every activity of our great movement I am sincerely grateful. I am also thankful for the faithful practitioners throughout the world, especially those who have helped me.—Mark Harris Gregg, Oakland, California.
