"God is Love" was the first statement of truth that led me to accept Christian Science. I had attended many churches, seeking a satisfying concept of God, and had reached a point where I was not attending any church regularly.

For years I had been employed as a laboratory technician in a doctor's office and was deeply absorbed in my work. A friend came to live in our home and presented to me this wonderful religion, Christian Science. It filled me with joy, but I could not believe that it would heal the body. Later I was aware of a change in my thinking when I visited a dearly beloved sister. While I was there an accident occurred to my little niece and by applying the truth as taught in Christian Science I made my first demonstration of physical healing.

From that time on, although I was still engaged in medical work, I turned to Truth for the healing of all discordant conditions. I began an earnest study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. After a few years I was lifted into work which was more harmonious. I have had many beautiful healings, among which were instantaneous healings of sinus condition, headaches, and colds. Other conditions which seemed more difficult, and took longer to overcome, were lung trouble, sprained ankle, a seemingly serious ear abscess, burns, and neuritis. Many faults of character have been corrected, such as self-consciousness, sensitiveness, and jealousy.

I am most grateful for the healings; for all the activities of the Christian Science movement, and the revelation of Truth through the life and works of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy; for membership in The Mother Church; for class instruction; and for the loving work of practitioners and friends.

I have received much comfort and inspiration from testimonies of healing in the Christian Science Sentinel, and those given at Wednesday evening meetings. May my testimony do as much for others!—(Mrs.) Maude Campbell Douglas, Buffalo, New York.
