With a heart full of gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy for revealing Christian Science to the world, I desire to give this testimony.

My first healing took place in 1913, when a neighbor, whom I had never seen before, came to my home and found me in a very discouraged and despondent condition. At that time I was in a wheel chair, as the result of being thrown when I was alighting from a streetcar. She gave me some copies of the Christian Science Sentinel, spoke of healings she had received, and said that if I would read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I could be healed. I obeyed, and though I read very little of the textbook, the seed was sown, and I began to gain strength. The trouble was overcome in a few months.

A little later I found it necessary to go to work, and this neighbor, who had become a dear friend, helped me to secure work. One day I came home with a severe headache, and she said that, if I wished her to, she would work for me in Science. Very quickly the pain disappeared. After that I began in earnest to study and apply the truth.

Among my many healings were an instantaneous one of a sprained ankle, a quick healing of blood poisoning in my hand, and one of ingrowing toenails. Once, while I was washing, my hand was caught in the wringer, and when released it was badly bruised and very painful. I closed my eyes and declared all the truths I could remember, never moving from where I was standing. In a few minutes I was able to go on with my washing, thanking and praising God for this beautiful healing.

I am grateful for the privilege of being Second Reader in our Christian Science Society. At the time I began reading I was using glasses, but decided it was time again to prove God's allness. With a great deal of encouragement from the First Reader and a practitioner the demonstration was made.

For all these blessings I am more grateful than words can express, also for membership in The Mother Church.
