Almost twenty-nine years ago I was led to the study of Christian Science through the loving-kindness of a neighbor, who saw my need and supplied me with some of the literature. It seemed to be that for which I was seeking, and I later asked her for more reading material on the subject of this wonderful religion. She then lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At the time I had no thought of a physical healing, but wanted to find out if Christian Science could alleviate an unhappy condition in my home. However, I was healed of extreme nervousness, also of fear for our children.

When our younger son was sixteen months old and had a fever which seemed to be caused by teething, he was instantaneously healed. I have always been grateful for this healing, for it was the first one in our family of five children that was accomplished through my own slight understanding of Christian Science. Also, at this time I was healed of any further belief in the efficacy of medicine, and have not used any since.

During the influenza epidemic, just after the World War, I became so fearful when I saw its effect on friends that I went to a Christian Science practitioner for help. She lovingly said she would help me, assuring me that I had nothing to fear, and recommending that I study the ninety-first Psalm. This I did, and the children and I came through this experience without even a symptom of a cold. Many healings have occurred in our family, including those of measles, mumps, boils, toothache, bad colds, cuts, sprains, and smallpox.

I am grateful for the loyal and earnest practitioners who have ever been ready to help along the way, for the daily protection we have through study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and for the spiritual unfoldment that enriches our lives. Also, I am inexpressibly grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this beautiful and practical religion, which satisfies and comforts; and for class instruction, and membership in The Mother Church and in a branch Church of Christ.
