Christian Science was introduced to me some years ago,...

Christian Science was introduced to me some years ago, when I was unemployed. At that time I lived in a large city, and I searched for work daily, month after month, without success. One day, during my search, I called on a friend who belonged to the same profession, and he advised me to investigate Christian Science, but I could not see what Christian Science had to do with finding a position. Later, however, I again called on this man in the hope that he might be able to direct me to a possible opening. Again he recommended that I try Christian Science, and a short time later he invited me to a lecture. At the end of the lecture I accepted a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel, which proved to be invaluable to me, for in it were some articles dealing with the subject of overcoming lack. I attended a second lecture, during which the lecturer helpfully dealt with the same subject.

Soon afterward, I visited a practitioner and paid my first visit to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I thereafter began the study of Christian Science in earnest, and quickly discovered that God supplies all our needs, and that spiritual man is never unemployed. I sought to put into practice all that I was learning, and as a result, a calm assurance took possession of me that all my needs would be supplied.

One day I was guided to revisit a certain office. I was there offered a temporary position, which has since proved to be permanent, and I have been advanced several times to a higher position.

I have learned that Christian Science, when correctly applied, meets our every need, be it financial, physical, or moral. Before becoming a student of Christian Science, I was subject to winter colds, necessitating my absence from work very frequently, but with the understanding which I have gained, this condition has entirely disappeared.

I am deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the wonderful concept of God which her writings have given me. Previous to my taking up the study of Christian Science I was very skeptical, with the result that I had not attended any church service for a great many years. Now Christian Science means more to me than anything else in life, and I am daily grateful to be able to labor for the Cause.

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church, for past membership in a branch church, and for the present work of assisting to build up a branch organization in the community in which I am at present residing. I am also grateful for Sunday school work.

I should like to corroborate the statements of my husband and gratefully to acknowledge a healing of arthritis which took place during my early study of Christian Science.

I am grateful for having had the privilege of helping in various branch churches as librarian and Sunday school teacher, for the privilege of acting as Second Reader in our newly formed society, for membership in The Mother Church, and for the recent privilege of class instruction.
