It is with sincerest gratitude for Christian Science that I give this testimony.
When we were children my mother had erysipelas of the face, and the doctor said she could not live. She was healed through Christian Science. Years later the thought came to me clearly that the material remedies I had been trying would never aid me in finding the health and harmony which I had been seeking. Soon afterward I went to live in a distant city, and Christian Science was presented to me. Each time that I came from the Reading Room, after reading the periodicals, I had new hope, and when I purchased and read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, eyeglasses were laid aside, other ills vanished, and I found a more desirable position.
Two sons who have always had Christian Science as their help have been free from sickness and did not have so-called children's diseases. In later years one son was healed of a serious burn on the elbow, and in a short time the other son was healed of earache and total deafness in one ear.
When the younger son was seven years old I noticed for some time that he was not breathing normally. When I asked him why he did not close his mouth he said he could not breathe if he did. For a year I had been limping with a bent and stiffened knee. One day I read an article in the Sentinel on gratitude, and I felt a greater sense of gratitude than ever before. The next morning my son was breathing properly, and the healing has remained permanent. I was also walking freely.
After this I had a desire to learn more about divine Principle and was led to a faithful practitioner who helped me to see God, good, as omnipotent, and man as His perfect image and likeness. Later, through this spiritualization of thought, I was healed of pneumonia.
I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her revelation of true being. —(Mrs.) Bina T. Brands, Fargo, North Dakota.
