As my gratitude for Christian Science increases, my appreciation of its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, deepens. So many blessings have come to us through the study and application of Christian Science that it is difficult to know which to relate first.

I had always read the Bible and loved it, had always prayed and felt that many of my prayers were answered, but I had often wondered why our prayers did not heal as did those of Jesus. Soon after beginning the earnest study of Christian Science I had an instantaneous healing of a severe burn through my own understanding of the truth as taught by Mrs. Eddy, and this was most precious to me because burns had always seemed very real and painful. After this most convincing proof nothing could persuade me that I had not found a religion which was all-sufficient.

I then decided that I could rely wholly on God for the healing of my sons, and I soon had the opportunity of seeing one of these sons healed of a severe attack of stomach trouble by our understanding of God as all-powerful. Although these attacks had occurred periodically, he never has had another attack since that healing. Through the understanding our elder son gained in the Christian Science Sunday School, he was freed from wearing glasses, which had one very thick lens. This son also had a remarkable healing when his hand was badly cut by a band saw at school. The saw went between the second and third fingers into the hand, severing the tendons. The surgeon to whom he was taken from school said that if he kept those two fingers he would never be able to use them. He went back to school from the surgeon's office, declining to be brought home, for he said he had to prove to himself that the accident was unreal. Under Christian Science treatment his hand healed beautifully, and he has the use of all of his fingers, as well as the rest of his hand. A younger son was healed in a few days of double pneumonia.

One of the outstanding blessings which have come to us in our work as Christian Scientists has been learning what true service and true supply are. The Bible tells us that "a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth." We learned the truth of this statement by going through deep waters. My husband, after many years of success, was faced with the complete loss of money, home, business. Although he had a trade, general business conditions made it impossible for him to find work. We had tried faithfully to prove what we knew of Christian Science, but it was not until after we had gone through a very difficult time indeed that work was offered him of an entirely different nature and of a type often called menial labor. Then came the most severe testing time of all, for false pride, self-will, and stubborn outlining as to how our need was to be supplied had to be overcome. Finally we saw that service to God meant reflecting the qualities of God, and that one could do that in whatever position he might be, and that actively expressing these qualities could make the humblest position a means of true service. In the time which has elapsed, it has been our comfort to realize that we are indeed working for God wherever we are. We have been healed of a false sense of "things," and with Paul we can truly say, "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." This indeed is true supply, and this knowledge has been most precious to us.

Many more healings could be related, but it is sufficient to say that our gratitude grows daily for a better understanding of God, for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for loyal friends, for a fuller appreciation of home and harmony, for a deeper love of church, and for the purifying fire of trial which has indeed proved God's care to us.

I have always prayed earnestly for God to use me in His service, and I feel definitely that the opportunities which have come to me to serve in the Christian Science movement are the answer to that prayer.

I am most grateful for the healings mentioned in this testimony, as well as many others which have come to us through the study and application of Christian Science. I humbly pray that my life may prove my gratitude for this truth.—Earle J. Reynolds.
