I am grateful to God and also to our beloved Leader,...

I am grateful to God and also to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who found the truth that heals. Some time ago, I awakened one morning seemingly too ill even to get out of bed. Being alone, I was unable to get in touch with a practitioner. I began working as we are taught to do in Christian Science, but two days passed and the error was still apparent.

The morning of the third day I lay expressing audible gratitude for what Christian Science was doing for mankind, for healings I had had, and for the healings of others, when an experience of two years before came to my thought. I had been with three children, one of whom had lost a sum of money while on an errand. The truth had been declared and human footsteps taken, with no results. I remarked, "Let's sit down quietly, because we can make this demonstration." One of the children looked up sweetly and said, "The demonstration is made if we but claim it." In a short time the truth of her statement was proved.

As I thought about this I realized that my work the past two days had been a struggle to rid thought of something not in existence, instead of a grateful acknowledgment of my perfection as a child of God, joyous, free, and full of strength. Such a glow of gratitude to God for this angel message filled my thought that in an hour I was up and about my Father's business.

Through the application of Christian Science I have been healed of influenza, pleurisy, sprained wrist, and many other difficulties. Through the use of our Hymnal I have been freed from grief.

For the healings and the many blessings which I have received from reading our periodicals, I truly rejoice. I am also very grateful for the consecrated work of practitioners, for membership in The Mother Church, and for the privilege of serving in the activities of a branch church.
