It is with sincere gratitude to Christian Science for my healing, and a desire that others may be benefited as I have been, that I write this testimony.

In the winter of 1933, after eight months of rest and medical treatment had left me with little hope of ever being well again, Christian Science was recommended to me as a means of healing. I had been a medical nurse for several years. I read some testimonies of healing in the Christian Science Sentinel, which gave me encouragement; then I asked for the help of a practitioner, and was healed of organic heart disease through absent treatment.

During this time, when I was sincerely seeking to understand Christian Science, Jesus' words to Peter came to my thought, "For flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee."

Some time later, with the help of practitioners, I had a healing of a severe bronchial condition, with pleura and bowel complications.

Two statements from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I found very helpful: on page 413, "Mind regulates the condition of the stomach, bowels, and food, the temperature of children and of men, and matter does not;" and on page 463, "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." I found that much wrong thinking, such as resentment and condemnation, had to be eradicated.

I am deeply grateful for the loving help of practitioners, and for a fuller, clearer understanding of God, man, and my real being, consisting of spiritual qualities.

To complete this testimony I wish to express gratitude for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for the periodicals, and for the many blessings that Christian Science is daily bringing into my life.
