In divine Science man is unfallen and upright
In divine Science man is unfallen and upright. With the help of a practitioner, I learned to recognize this spiritual truth, and to know that man is never separated from God.
As I was coming down a hill, my foot caught in the hem of my dress. I was thrown about eight feet, face forward, into a cement ditch. When I became conscious I found that I had been carried into the office where I was employed, and heard my friends asking if a doctor had been called. I shall always be grateful for three alert students of Christian Science. One immediately called a practitioner, who took up the work for me. My husband, who had been notified of the accident, came at once, and an ambulance had already been called to take me home. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the practitioner, who was at the house when we arrived. Through his right thinking and radical reliance on God, many fearful suggestions were dispelled. My face was cut, two teeth had been knocked out and others loosened; there was a fracture of my right wrist, a double fracture of my left wrist, a sprained left foot, and a badly cut right knee.
On page 283 of Science and Health, by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, are these words: "Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action." She also states (ibid.,
p. 151), "Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind." By clinging steadfastly to these and other truths, I was able to realize that man, God's idea, had never been in an accident, and with the help of the practitioner, I was back at my place of duty in two weeks.
I am very grateful for Christian Science. I am grateful to God for all the blessings which have come to me, grateful also to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our beloved Leader for her deep understanding and spirituality, which enabled her to give to the world this rich legacy. —

The foregoing healing as related by my wife was but another beautiful proof of God's ever-presence and power to care for and maintain His children in perfect harmony.
Some twenty years ago I was suffering from a cancerous condition, which affected my face. At first I had no idea what the trouble might be, and when early treatments in Christian Science failed to arrest the growth, I called upon physicians for a diagnosis. They pronounced it a rare type of cancer, for which there was no known medicine that could give relief.
Although I continued having treatment in Christian Science, the trouble seemed to increase, necessitating the constant wearing of a mask. I read, studied, and applied what I learned, holding steadfastly to the thought of God's infinite power and the perfection of His idea.
After a testing time and growth in understanding, for more than three years, I realized my complete healing, so perfect that blood tests showed no evidences of the former trouble. New flesh replaced what had been destroyed, and later I was able to resume my rightful place in the world.
I cannot fully express my gratitude to the practitioners who so lovingly aided and guided me along the way, and to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who made such a realization of health possible. —
