Gratitude for the many blessings which have come to...

Gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me and mine through the study and application of Christian Science prompts me to give my testimony.

Some ten years ago, our youngest son, then six years of age, was severely burned from his knees to his hips. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and the pain was destroyed very quickly. The ligaments under the knee on one leg were burned so badly that the father feared the child might be a cripple. However, I clung steadfastly to the truth of the perfection of God and man. The child's father was not interested in Christian Science, and because of his fear he brought home some oil to put on the burns. As he started to apply the oil, the child looked up into his face and said, "Daddy, I thought you were going to let God do the work." His father was so surprised and impressed by the faith of the child that he replied, "All right, we will let God do the work." Needless to say, the child got up and walked. In three weeks the healing was complete.

The eldest son, when nine years of age, was struck in the eye with a piece of lead, which broke the blood vessels, and caused a clot to form on the pupil of his eye. Since I was not at home, the kindly intentioned neighbors carried him to a hospital. The verdict given by attending physicians was that the sight of the eye was gone. They advised me to take him to an eye specialist, some two hundred miles away, because they feared he would lose the sight of the other eye. I wired a Christian Science practitioner for help, which was immediately given. In three days' time the clot was gone, and the child's sight normal. Several months later all the school children were required to have their eyes examined. When our son's turn came, the physician who had attended him before remembered him, gave him a very thorough examination, and stated that the sight of both eyes was perfect. The physicians were kind and considerate.

Many other healings have taken place in our family, such as those of pneumonia, diphtheria, measles, mumps, and a dislocated hip. For all these healings I am deeply grateful to God for His loving-kindness that led me to Truth, which saves and heals. I deeply appreciate the unselfed love of the practitioners in answering each call for help. For the strength and inspiration received from our periodicals; for membership in The Mother Church; for class instruction; for the lectures and all activities of our loved Cause, I am very grateful. My daily prayer is that my life may express true gratitude by bringing this healing Science to the knowledge and experience of others, that they may be blessed as I have been.—

(Mrs.) Margaret Douglas, EI Paso, Texas.

I gladly verify my mother's testimony. I am grateful for the healing of burns, and for the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School.

Robert James Douglas, San Antonio, Texas.

I also wish to add my gratitude for the healing of my eyes, as given in the above testimony of my mother; also to express my appreciation of the privilege of having attended the Christian Science Sunday School and of being a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church.
