Christian Science has been to me like a rock

Christian Science has been to me like a rock. As I look back over the rearing of eight children in Christian Science, I am grateful for the many healings, comforts, and blessings it has afforded us. Almost every so-called children's disease has been overcome, including whooping cough, measles, mumps, and chicken pox.

I am most grateful for three outstanding healings. One day, my little girl was sent home from school by the school nurse, and told not to return until the doctor had examined her. The next morning we found that she has scarlet fever. I read to her all day from the Christian Science literature, and by night everything had cleared up. The doctor came the following day, and said the child was all right and could return to school.

Another time my small boy was sent home by the school doctor with mastoiditis. He had a high fever and the ear was badly swollen and inflamed, but I was not greatly alarmed, for I had witnessed the healing of a similar difficulty through Christian Science. I put him to bed, read to him, and sang some Christian Science hymns. In a short time the lad was asleep. He slept for a long time, and when he awoke, the swelling and fever had left. The next day he returned to school well, much to the astonishment of the nurse.

The third healing was that of an elder son, who was taken with infantile paralysis. He was paralyzed from his waist down. I read to him all day, hardly taking time for food. By evening the fear had left, and with it the ailment. I went to get the evening meal, thinking no more about it. Suddenly I saw him in the doorway. He had walked from the living room through the dining room into the kitchen. He is a fine, strong young man now. We can never be grateful enough to Mrs. Eddy for this beautiful truth about God, "who," as the Psalmist has said, "forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
