I want to express my gratitude for all the good which...
I want to express my gratitude for all the good which has come to me through the study and practice of Christian Science.
I came into Christian Science for healing for my baby, who was suffering from hereditary indigestion.
I asked a neighbor who was a Christian Science practitioner if Christian Science could help in a case like this, and she said, "Do you believe that God has all power?" I said I did. She then lent me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. By the time I had read the book through I realized that the baby and I were healed. That was about twenty-five years ago.
From then on I studied faithfully. Three other children were born, two of whom were twins. After the birth of the twins, had it not been for the application of Christian Science and the help of a faithful practitioner I should have been confined to my bed for a lengthy period, owing to conditions that arose, but instead I was up and around within two weeks.
The children have never had any help other than Christian Science, and we all find it more than sufficient to meet our every need. Whether the problem has been mental or physical, a healing has always resulted when the work has been faithfully done and the fact of man's dominion has been declared and clung to in thought. Sometimes the healing has come through the help of a practitioner, and sometimes by our own study and right thinking. When my dear husband passed on, a sense of deep gratitude that I could affirm and measurably understand that there is no death and no separation in Mind, where all of God's ideas safely dwell, gave me a wonderful sense of peace and harmony.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and also for class instruction. But my deepest gratitude is to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave to the world the healing truth as taught and practiced by Christ Jesus. I pray that I may so live the life of a Christian Scientist that I may draw others to this wonderful truth.—(Mrs.) Gladys M. Leeney, Norwalk, Connecticut.
