With deep-felt gratitude I wish to testify to the truth...

With deep-felt gratitude I wish to testify to the truth taught and practiced by Christ Jesus and one more brought to light by Mrs. Eddy.

I first witnessed the effects of Christian Science when my mother was instantaneously healed of a disease said to be incurable. Just through my reading of the book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, my eyesight became normal and a goiter disappeared without my being able to say exactly when this occurred.

I remember also a final examination in geography when, despairing of my ability to recall so many names, I read our dear Leader's book instead of reviewing, entrusting myself to God for the supply of all my needs. When the time for the examination came, I drew a subject with which I had always been familiar.

We learn in this "key" to the Scriptures that accidents are unknown in the kingdom of heaven, where we "live, and move, and have our being." By my holding firmly to this truth a sprained ankle—the result of a fall from a bicycle—was healed, and the victory enabled me two days later to climb a mountain.

I am particularly grateful for having been able to receive class instruction in my mother tongue. This fresh awakening has made it possible for me to overcome some more tenacious inharmonies, among others a hereditary belief of quinsy that had filled me with fear and suffering. The God whom Christian Science reveals to us is the all-loving Father-Mother who leads us tenderly on, that through struggles as well as triumphs we may finally awake in Him image and likeness. I am very happy to be a member of The Mother Church, and I am grateful to all those who are working in the Christian Science movement, as well as those in the Publishing House for their share in sending forth the literature which is blessing humanity.
