With increasing gratitude for Christian Science I wish to...

With increasing gratitude for Christian Science I wish to add my testimony to the many others.

For several years I had thought I should investigate Christian Science, but I knew nothing about it and mortal mind argued that I might ask foolish questions and appear ridiculous. But my "extremity" was "God's opportunity" and the blessings I have received have been many.

My first healing was of fear of driving in the mountains. I had gone to Colorado to take a position. At the time I was suffering from a great sense of loss. I thought that if I had a car I could be out of doors more and that would be beneficial. After purchasing the car I was unable to drive it with any pleasure, although I had driven for years. I wanted to go to a certain place, but people told me that I could not go until I had driven in the mountains. I did not know how I could learn to drive in the mountains if I did not try, but I was afraid to start. Finally, an acquaintance urged me to see a Christian Science practitioner. I shall always be grateful for this. The practitioner explained why I could drive in the mountains, and recommended that I call him when I wanted to go and he would help me. I left the garage at four o'clock, drove over a fairly difficult road, and was so thrilled with the freedom I experienced that I drove for four hours without stopping. It was a glorious experience.

I had Christian Science treatment when a tooth had to be extracted. Before this it had been difficult for the dentist to work on my teeth, and he was reluctant to remove the tooth without an anesthetic. But I had asked for help and felt that I should not turn away. The tooth was pulled, and the only sensation I felt was the fitting of the forceps over the tooth. The dentist apologized for taking so long, but I did not feel it at all, and went out to dinner and the theater in the evening.

These and other healings are wonderful, but the harmony which this great Science is bringing into our home is priceless. Peace, happiness, and consideration are replacing discord, resentment, and impatience.

I wish to express gratitude for our Leader and for her willingness to carry on even though the way was most difficult; for the practitioners; the lectures; the periodicals; and the new Publishing House. I am grateful for every activity of the Christian Science movement and for membership in our beloved Mother Church.—(Miss) Ferne Elizabeth Taylor, Fredericksburg, Iowa.
