I should like to give a testimony for the benefit of all...

I should like to give a testimony for the benefit of all mankind. I am so grateful for Christian Science and what it has done for me that I can hardly state it in words.

After being run into by an intoxicated driver, I was taken to the hospital in an unconscious condition. My family was notified, and they got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner, who arrived at the hospital as I was carried in. Work was taken up immediately.

A cousin of mine was in the car at the time, and her husband, who was not a Scientist, called one of the leading physicians of the city. After attending to her, he came to my room and advised that my son, who lived out of town, be notified at once, for I could not live through the night. Upon examination, he found that there were two fractures of the skull, three ribs, also pelvis bone, broken, leg cut to the bone below the knee, face twisted and paralyzed, ear injured, and other bruises. He said there was nothing he could do.

Christian Science treatment was persistently applied, and after four days I regained consciousness. In three weeks I left the hospital and was taken to my own home. I had a Christian Science nurse for one week, and in seven weeks from the day I met with this experience I walked into the practitioner's office. Each of these false conditions has been fully healed through reliance on God's loving law.

To the practitioner I am indeed grateful; also to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for being good enough to reveal this truth to us all; for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; for class instruction, and for the privilege of serving as librarian in a Christian Science Reading Room. I am grateful above all for the clearer understanding I am gaining each day of this blessed truth through the study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
