With a heart full of love and gratitude to God, and as one who has come out of the calley of fear and doubt into the true understanding of peace and happiness, I should like to give this testimony of gratitude of Christian Science for all that it has brought into my life.

In 1928 I underwent a serious operation for what was considered by the doctors a malignant growth. Very much discouraged at the diagnosis I returned home to set my house in order and await what seemed the inevitable end. One day a lady visited me and seeing my great need offered to lend me and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I began to read this book, and though I knew nothing about Christian Science I was greatly impressed and felt that I must know more about its teachings.

Each day as I read I found myself stronger, yet the distressing material evidence of the disease continued and I to get further help. God indeed paved the way for me. Shortly after this I found out that a come to live in the island, and that she would attend the Sunday service. I was then asked by another friend the Sunday If I should like to attend this service, and I eagerly accepted her invitation. After the service was over I met the practitioner and shall never forget my short interview; she so lovingly assured me that God is my help that I went on my way home rejoicing, and was very happy that she would give me treatment.

After a few treatments the pain and discharge ceased and, what was more wonderful to me, I was relieved to a great fear, for though the trouble returned more disturbed once it was so quickly overcome that it never really my peace of mind again, and I was able to say with understanding, "Truth is God's remedy for error of every kind, and Truth destroys only what is untrue" (Science and Health, pp. 142, 143). My complete healing was effected four years ago, and has proved permanent. I am very grateful to the same practitioner for the help I received in the overcoming of faults of character, and for the way I have been guided to study all of our Leader's works, through which I have learned to work out my daily problems and to lean on Principle, not personality. I have also learned that though we joyfully try to follow the Master's footsteps we have always to be alert with wisdom, firmness, and constant prayer to meet the continual daily struggles.

Perhaps the healing for which I am most grateful is the complete overcoming of the sense of loss and separation which occurred when my dear and much-loved only son passed on three years ago. It was then that I turned to Christian Science with all my heart, finding in its teachings both comfort and assurance.

It has been a great help to me to be a member of The Mother Church, and I can express my gratitude to God and to our Leader for all the benefits received only by being humble and Christlike so that I may be worthy to carry the truth of this blessed Comforter to others and so help them to say with the Psalmist, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."—(Mrs.) Violet Liddelow, Trinidad, British West Indies.
