I render thanks and acknowledge the healing of physical, mental, moral, financial, social, and business difficulties which have arisen in my personal experience and have been surmounted through the study of Christian Science.

From childhood I desired to know of God and to learn how I could best help my fellow men. As a young man in the study and practice of law, I doubted the necessity for what seemed extremely difficult and intricate situations in human affairs. I considered that there must be an easy solution for all problems, but I did not know where to look for it. A desire to find a rule for right thinking was always with me. However, as the result of close study and application to my work, towards the end of 1927 I reached a position which marked progressive steps in the practice of my profession. All this was of little use, as I was then faced with very poor health, which grew worse, notwithstanding surgical and medical treatment, until I began the study of Christian Science in March, 1929.

At this time I seemed entirely overcome. I was beset with a multitude of ills and difficulties, which included suffering acutely from sleeplessness, severe indigestion, stomach and heart disorders, intense fear of nose bleeding, weak eyes, smoking, exhaustion, bronchial colds, a worried condition of mind, and periodic attacks of a condition which affected my whole system in a painful and distressing manner.

My restoration commenced when Christian Science came to my notice. I was impressed by the Biblical passages quoted in various articles and testimonies appearing in a Journal and Sentinel sent to me by friends who are students of Christian Science, and from whom I had asked for information concerning this Science. These Bible excerpts stood out as specific authority for all that Christian Science taught and claimed. I saw that the teachings of Jesus were applicable to all times and conditions. I studied the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I knew that earnest study and a conscious effort to put into practice that which I was studying must ultimately lead to healing. I was helped in many ways by attendants in the Reading Room and later by practitioners. The result of my study and of the practitioners' help was that I was completely healed of all the conditions above enumerated. I became a member of The Mother Church, had class instruction, and later was enrolled as a member of the branch church in this city. It has been my joy and privilege to become actively engaged in work in this field.

I am learning more each day of the great but simple laws set out for all mankind in the Bible and Science and Health. I have found that obedience to these laws brings very quick and lasting demonstrations. Through my study of Bible references relating to tithing and obeying the Bible injunctions in this direction, difficulties of supply were healed. Then I started to "tithe" my time, and added benefits have resulted. I have seen various healings in my own home and in business and school affairs. I love Christian Science, which is giving me true knowledge of God and man, and thereby displacing ignorance and false educated beliefs. I know that as harmony and perfection in all conditions are claimed, all types of problems vanish.

The Christian Science Monitor and the other Christian Science publications, and lectures by members of the Board of Lectureship of The Mother Church, are a great help to me, and I desire more fully to demonstrate this Science of being, which is contained and explained in the Bible and the works of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—Reginald Heithersay Cheek, Prospect, South Australia.
