Evening World

If your correspondent had carefully read my letter in your issue dated June 23, he would have found his reply.

It is not, however, my intention to enter into a religious controversy. Christian Science is a demonstrable religion, not a mere play of words; it is essentially a religion of proof, obeying the commands of our Master, Christ Jesus, in healing the sick and reforming the sinner.

Christian Science has withstood all manner of attacks and criticism, and it continues to unfold, making rapid progress. It is now represented by churches and societies, also university organizations, in all parts of the world, and its healing and regenerative truth has blessed millions. Christian Science will stand or fall upon its own record. "By their fruits ye shall know them."

In conclusion, let me ask your correspondent to give full consideration to the advice of that eminent lawyer, Gamaliel, who, in defending the apostles, said, "Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God."
