In your issue of Wednesday last, under the heading, "Two Challenges to the Churches," an address is reported in which Christian Science is named as one of these challenges.

There are two kinds of challenge—a challenge to mortal combat and a friendly challenge to compete together in working for a common end and so to increase the efficiency of both. The former kind of challenge Christian Science wholly denies. It is out to fight nothing but evil—sin, disease, and death.

If it can be regarded as presenting the other kind of challenge, nothing rejoices Christian Scientists more, for it is just the simple Christianity that Christ Jesus taught and lived and proved, expressed in the language of today, and enabling its followers to bring forth the same fruitage of healing and good works that Christ Jesus said should follow them that believe in him.
