Christian Science was introduced into our home over thirty years ago. At this time my mother was healed, and she immediately began to study this Science. We were then living in a small city in the South, and for a time we were the only Christian Scientists there. Not long after, an epidemic of yellow fever swept through the city and my three brothers and I became ill with this disease. Although my mother was only a young student, she was able to do the metaphysical work for us, and we were all healed very quickly. I have also been healed of scarlet fever, mumps, bilious attacks, headaches, and other physical disorders.

Although I was only a child when we first heard of Christian Science, I soon began to apply the truth for myself, especially in my school work. I have proved over and over again the sustaining and protecting power of Truth, which has been my only physician during all these years. Several years after I was married I passed through a severe trial. I felt the need for deeper understanding of the truth, and after much earnest study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and the other writings by Mary Baker Eddy, I was led to have class instruction. I regard this as among my greatest blessings, because through it the veil which clouded my understanding was removed.

When our children were born I had help from a practioner, and both births were very harmonious. When the little girl was six years old she and her brother were healed quickly of scarlet fever by Christian Science.

While I am indeed grateful for all the physical healings, I am more grateful for the spiritual discernment and understanding which Christian Science brings; for it has taught me to know God and to see my fellow man as His image and likeness. I cannot find words to express my love and gratitude to God, and to our beloved Leader, who toiled and worked to give this unfoldment of Truth to mankind.
