I wish to express some measure of my gratitude to God...

I wish to express some measure of my gratitude to God for the gift of Christian Science. All that I am I owe to its healing efficacy. When I came to Christian Science some ten or twelve years ago I came for healing. For many years I had been a semi-invalid, in bondage to material so-called laws and penalties. Lung trouble, with all its accompanying symptoms, was so great that doctors seemed unable to give me any further relief.

A kind friend came with the message of Christian Science. The textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was secured, and I read and read at every opportunity for about two months. Many times the thought would come to me that it might help me if I could only understand it. However, at the end of approximately six weeks, there came a night when coughing and physical disturbances ceased, and I slept soundly, so far as I knew neither coughing nor moving. I awoke in a new world; the grass was greener, the sunshine brighter, the flowers more beautiful. Above all, i experienced a great sense of peace and rest and joy. From that time on the organic disorders have been disappearing, and I have been able to take my place in the home and to fill my rightful place in the world.

During these past years there have been many testing times in our home; healings of chicken pox, scarlet fever, blood poisoning, and sick headaches have resulted, and I am grateful for the help of loving practitioners and friends whose scientific thoughts led us on and up until we were able to see the truth which dispelled these errors of thought.

I am indeed grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, whose loving sacrifice of self made it possible for her to give this great truth to the world. I am sincerely grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for each and every channel through which Christian Science is reaching the human consciousness today.
