Ah , Mary! with your eyes all blind with tears,
Not knowing death's harsh mortal dream withdrawn;
Turn from your agony, your groundless fears,
And see the dawn!

Dark? Yes, indeed, dense with material night
Beholding man inhabiting the clay.
Turn, Mary! To thy now illumined sight There comes the day!

He could not go! Held in Love's consciousness,
God's perfect likeness, deathless, pure, and free.
The Christ is here to comfort, heal, and bless,
And calleth thee!
