Christian Science was brought to our family in my childhood through the healing of a cousin of a serious illness. At the time, attacks of erysipelas, inflammatory rheumatism, and rheumatic fever had confined me to bed for a year, and the conditions were such that my father was severely criticized for taking me to a near-by town for treatment. The loving work of the Christian Science practitioner who took the case resulted in a complete and permanent healing in three days. Eye trouble, which threatened blindness and which was not mentioned to the practitioner, disappeared also, never to return.

This healing brought with it something far greater than the mere physical cure, for it changed the entire outlook of the family, which included four children. The blessings brought into our lives are entirely beyond computation—health, happiness, and, far above all else, the understanding of God as divine Life, Truth, and Love, rather than as a far-away Being who for inscrutable reasons has permitted the presence of sin, sickness, and death in His universe. My daughter has grown to womanhood knowing nothing of the things that made my childhood a sickly, unhappy one. For every problem that has come, she has been able to turn confidently to Christian Science, knowing that she could find there the perfect solution.

The volume of gratitude for all that Christian Science is bringing to the world daily grows greater and greater, and that of each individual student grows deeper as each day unfolds fresh opportunities for the demonstration of the meaning and power of the message revealed through the unselfed life and labors of our revered Leader, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy.—(Mrs.) Alice Cady Hall, Hollywood, California.
