With love and sincere gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I gratefully offer this testimony. Christian Science entered my home over nine years ago, and has proved to be our greatest blessing. We have needed no other physician, for which I am very thankful.

About eight years ago, when I was very young in this Science, my three-year-old girl fell down a flight of stairs. When I picked her up her mouth was bleeding very badly, as her teeth had cut through her lip. She looked so ill and was crying so hard that I could not let my husband hold her while I called a practitioner. My husband was not interested in Christian Science, and I knew that he would be alarmed and would call a doctor. All I could do was to trust God as I had learned to do through my little understanding of Christian Science. The bleeding stopped in a very few minutes, and the child dozed off to sleep. This eased my husband's mind, so he went out. I immediately called a practitioner and told him what had happened, and said also that I was afraid to let the little one sleep after the fall. He assured me that she was resting in Love's care and that there was nothing to fear. She rested very well that night, but in the morning we noticed that her lip was turning back. The first thing suggested was to call a doctor to take stitches, but instead I called the practitioner. The healing was rapid; in fact, there was no sign of the cut the next day.

Three years ago another daughter came home from school with a very severe case of measles. This was completely healed in less than twenty-four hours.

At one time, while sewing very fast on an electric machine, I caught my finger under the needle. The pain was so severe that I could not think to take my foot off the lever; but when I did stop I had great difficulty in raising the needle, and when I succeeded my finger was torn about half an inch and the needle was broken in small pieces. It was all I could do to get to the telephone to call for help, and I could hardly talk to the practitioner. In ten minutes the pain was gone, the bleeding had stopped, and the torn finger had closed. There still remained a little fear that some of the needle was in the finger, so I spoke to the practitioner again. She very lovingly assured me that Truth would remove whatever did not belong there. In two days the finger was entirely healed.

I am just as grateful for the spiritual uplifting as for the physical healings, and my prayer is that I may be able to do my part in helping to spread this truth, that all mankind may see and share in it.
