When I try to enumerate the many blessings that I have...

When I try to enumerate the many blessings that I have received through Christian Science, words fail me to express them. Some years ago, through loving friends, I was led to visit the little Christian Science church here. It was a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I shall never forget how loving everyone there was to me. Being very ignorant of Christian Science, I sat far back, so that, if it was not pleasant, I could slip out. Needless to say, I had no desire to leave.

Since then, many healings in my family and in my own consciousness have taken place. While my daughter, then a girl about ten years old, was in the gymnasium at school she sprained her ankle. The teachers wanted to send her to have the ankle bandaged, but all she asked was to be allowed to telephone to a Christian Science practitioner for help. She did not miss a day at school.

Before coming into Christian Science I had a malignant growth removed from my eyelid with radium. It was over a year in healing. In the light and understanding of Christian Science, when this same condition manifested itself again, I was instantaneously healed by declaring that God was the only power and presence, the only healer, and that nothing unlike God, good, could manifest itself in consciousness.

On page 72 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy we read, "God, good, being ever present, it follows in divine logic that evil, the suppositional opposite of good, is never present." This statement, held in thought, has been a staff which I have leaned on many times. Colds, acute indigestion, kidney colic, measles, and many other forms of error have been removed from thought by the application of the truth. Recently, on being measured for a garment I watched the saleswoman write down the measurements. I told her that she had made a mistake, as I was larger on one side than the other. She carefully took the measurements again, and said, "No, you are mistaken." Later, on investigating, I found that where I had been much larger, due to the effects of an accident many years ago, this condition had passed away.

Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." It is my desire to do more and more each day of good, to prove my love and gratitude for Christian Science and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. When I think of all the bad traits of character that have been overcome through my study of Christian Science, my heart overflows with gratitude.

I am most grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for all the activities in which I have been privileged to take part, for class instruction, and for loving help by consecrated practitioners.
