[Original testimony in German]

With a heart overflowing with gratitude, I feel I must relate...

With a heart overflowing with gratitude, I feel I must relate one of the many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science.

Seven years ago my little daughter, then fifteen months old, fell sick. She ate nothing and daily grew weaker, while her stomach was much enlarged. Two doctors advised an operation, but I would not consent to it. I went to a third doctor, and he advised a sun cure. After two months of medical treatment, as the child had not grown any better, the doctor advised waiting for a while and going on with the cure later.

At that time I became acquainted with Christian Science through my sister, and read of the healings which had taken place through its means. So I wrote to my sister in America and asked her to have the child treated in Christian Science. It should be noted that the child was very cross during her illness, and feverish all the time, and it was always hard to get two or three spoonfuls of nourishment into her mouth three times daily. After a couple of weeks had passed, one morning on awaking my little daughter cried for something to eat. That was the first time in six months that she had asked for food. I gave her something, and all that day she was well and strong and played, and from that time all symptoms of disease vanished. The stomach became normal in a few days. Soon after that, when out walking, I met the doctor who had treated the child. He was astonished and said, "The child looks first-class; she doesn't need a doctor any more!"

Since then diphtheria, colds, and other difficulties have also been overcome through Christian Science. I have learned to know that God is the only preserver of man and of all that is His, and that nothing can harm us if we abide in the consciousness of Love.

My heart is filled to the brim with gratitude to Christ Jesus, as well as to Mrs. Eddy, who lovingly explored for us the way to God. I am also grateful to my sister, who led me to Christian Science.
