When I was very young in Christian Science, a small mole...

When I was very young in Christian Science, a small mole developed on my neck. It grew larger, and I frequently put my hand up to feel it, making no effort to overcome the belief by applying the truth. One day a friend who is a physician remarked that sometime he was going to cut off that mole. Shortly after this, circumstances led me to attend the services of the Christian Science Society in the little town where I was staying. I had previously considered that I could be a Christian Scientist without going to church. With my continued attendance there came an effort to clear my thought relative to the manifestation on my neck. I do not know when I stopped thinking about this mole; I only know that one day I suddenly realized that it had disappeared entirely.

I am most thankful that the teachings of Christian Science taught me to say, "Thy will be done," during a period of sadness and loneliness which made me long for companionship. Because I relied upon God to point out the way, I have enjoyed far greater happiness than I could possibly have realized, had I followed my human inclinations. I shall never forget the kindness and patience of my friends during this period of waiting.

During the later part of December, 1929, I suffered from an abscess in my ear and found it necessary to ask for help, which was lovingly given. Notwithstanding sleepless nights, the absence of my maid, and a guest in the house for a fortnight, I was able to carry on with a musical entertainment which had been planned for Christmas, neither the guest nor the neighbors knowing of the difficulty. The trouble yielded slowly, and at times error tried to tell me that I should be unable to give this musicale as I could hear absolutely nothing in one ear. However, the application of the truth was continued, and the Sunday before Christmas the abscess opened, and I thanked God that once more Truth had been victorious.

For six years I have lived abroad, and I have many times rejoiced that I have this infallible Truth to guide me. Most of this time has been spent in sections where little or nothing is known of Christian Science, and I can truly say that our publications are, indeed, a great blessing. Only those who have been deprived of church activity and contact with Christian Scientists can fully realize the great privilege of subscribing to and studying carefully the literature which is so lovingly edited by loyal followers of our Leader.

I am very grateful for the understanding I am gaining that we are all one in Truth—that there are no nationalities in Love. There is but one universe; and its occupants are all lovingly governed by God, because "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals," as Mrs. Eddy says on page 13 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

I appreciate Mrs. Eddy's farsightedness in establishing so many avenues through which good flows to strengthen her followers. Class instruction from a loving and loyal teacher has been a great blessing. My hope is that by being an example for others, I may in a measure pay my debt of gratitude to those who have worked so untiringly to help me along the way.—(Mrs.) Maude Allen Bonazzi, Arroyo Naranjo, Cuba.
