[Written for the Sentinel]

Surrender

When thou canst say, and truly mean it,
E'en though with bitter tears
And aching heart,
"Thy will be done,"
And look away from the material
Into the singing presence of thy God,
Thou shalt find light and peace and plenty
And rapture such as thou hast never dreamed,
And the radiance of His unalterable being
Will illumine every simplest act of thine.
