I began the study of Christian Science about four years ago. Words cannot express the joy that has come into my life in so many ways since I have realized that we have an ever present God, who is Love.

I have been healed of inactivity of the bowels of thirtyfive years' standing; and my lungs, which were in such a condition that the doctor said I would have to give up work and go to bed, have also been healed. I have been able to lay aside glasses that I had used for several years for astigmatism. Swollen and aching feet and a chronic stomach disorder have also been overcome, and I have been freed from a sense of worry and depression. Other members of the family have been healed of rheumatism, cholera morbus, foot trouble, and of a badly injured finger which was nearly severed from the hand and which the doctor said would have to be amputated. A son has been healed of a nervous breakdown and of many diseases that had baffled the skill of many doctors.

There is one healing in particular which I will mention, as I learned more clearly in this experience than in any other that the material senses are untrue. I was walking outdoors when my foot slipped from the concrete walk and my ankle turned. I felt something snap, but realized the ever-presence of God. I went into the house and the pain became intense. I was helped to my room and asked what could be done for me. I requested my copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the Bible, and said I should like to be left alone. I read for some time, but the pain was so severe that I could not think as I wished, so I decided to call a practitioner. I went on with my reading, and about three or four hours later conditions seemed a little better. As I was lying in bed these words came to me: "Now is the accepted time; behold; now is the day of salvation." I immediately arose from the bed and started to walk. Although the ankle was badly swollen and I was in great pain. I realized that the material senses are untrue, and that God is All; and the more I walked the better my ankle became. I might add that I had had a similar experience several years before and was on crutches for nearly three weeks; and I did not fully recover for nearly a year.
