I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing; but my husband had been healed through Christian Science, and therefore I became interested. When I started to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy I found that I also had need of its teachings.

One evening, when at home alone, I was taken with all the symptoms of grippe. I woke up before midnight and was no better, so I rose and read and worked to the best of my understanding, for I had been interested in Christian Science only a short time. I read and worked for about two hours, and before starting to lie down again I stirred the fire. Before I knew what had happened I was all ablaze. I walked across the room brushing the fire down first from one arm and then from the other. Divine Love was surely there, for the fire went out instantly. I had not the least bit of fear, and by the morning I was free from the grippe.

I have also been healed instantaneously of a bladder trouble which had afflicted me for years. At another time soon after waking up from sleep I found myself suffering so that I could hardly read. However, I opened Science and Health, and the first word I saw was "pain." I read the sentence, "To him there is no longer any pain" (p. 416). In about an hour I was free.

Many other healings have taken place through Christian Science for which I am very thankful. I am thankful for the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church and of serving as Reader in a Christian Science Society, and for class instruction from a loyal teacher. I am thankful to God, the Giver of all good; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to Mrs. Eddy for showing us the way in Christian Science.
