Christian Science was first presented to me when I was in a state of chronic ill health owing to dyspepsia; but I was not ready for it then, and struggled on for a long time trying doctors, remedies, and dieting. The time came, however, when I was in despair, and I was then willing to try Christian Science. I wrote to a distant friend, the only Scientist I knew, and asked for help. When his letter came I was suffering from an attack of neuralgia, and it seemed too great an effort to read what he said; but I did so, and the message that God is Love, and never condemns His children to suffer, reached my consciousness and I was instantaneously healed. Then I wondered if Christian Science could heal me of the severe attacks of dyspepsia which frequently came to me. An opportunity came shortly and, although the only Christian Science literature I had was one Sentinel, I read that. The attack never developed and I was free.

Since that time we, as a family, have had many proofs that Christian Science can and does heal sickness and discord. Both of our girls were born under Christian Science treatment, and in each case birth was painless. When the elder child came, my understanding of the power of divine Mind to control all His ideas harmoniously was so small that it seemed as if the child had inherited a delicate constitution; but the practitioner's loving, patient work brought her safely through it all, and she now enjoys health and strength.

I should like also to say how grateful I am for our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It has indeed unlocked the treasures of the Bible to me, and has enabled me to give our children clearer explanations than I should have been able to do formerly. For the privilege of membership in The Mother Church, active work in a branch church, and class instruction, I am most thankful.

I am able fully to indorse the statements in the foregoing testimony by my wife. We have been brought through the valley of lack by being shown what supply really is, and its source. We owe this new outlook entirely to Christian Science and to the kind and faithful help rendered at various times by practitioners. When I try to think of that which has brought me most joy, my thoughts turn immediately to Mrs. Eddy and her interpretation of the Bible, for this book has been shown to contain the truth which Jesus said would set us free. Of the various physical healings I have had, the one which stands out most prominently is that of eyesight. For years I had suffered from bad eyesight and severe headaches, and was eventually obliged to wear glasses. Shortly after the late war began I took up the study of Christian Science, and the understanding and realization of God's protection were sufficient to restore my eyesight to normality and to allow me to discard glasses altogether.

I am most grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church. I am very thankful also to have had the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school. Words fail to convey all I should like to express of the inestimable value, through the textbook and other authorized literature, Christian Science has been to me and my family.
