Christian Science has truly been my helper for many years. My parents studied it before I was born; therefore I have enjoyed its blessings all my life. I could not begin to enumerate all the healings which have been experienced by me and by my family of four.

When our daughter was fourteen months old she was suddenly taken ill with what seemed to be spasms. We called a practitioner, who reached our home in about thirty minutes; and when she came in the child to all appearances was passing on. After greeting the practitioner I carried the child into the next room, and she was laughing and reaching up for the light by the time I had walked ten or twelve steps. Words cannot express the joy and thankfulness that flooded my consciousness. During this brief experience I had faced the fear of death and had clearly realized that it could not change the real man.

When our son was about a year old he swallowed at least three Christmas tree decorations, about the size of a walnut. I did not know of it at the time, but when I discovered it I rejoiced to know that when we are living in accord with the teachings of Christian Science we are taken care of, even though no specific work has been done. Green, red, and yellow glass continued to pass from the child that day without any sense of pain, and there was no fear on my part, only gratitude in my thought. My husband, who was at the time new to Christian Science, was told of the circumstance, and immediately expressed much fear. The child then went into paroxysms of pain. I called a practitioner and the child was asleep in five minutes. He suffered no ill effects from his experience.

Several years ago, while on a summer vacation away from Scientists, one of the children was severely injured. I wired my husband for help, and this time I was afraid. I wrestled all night with fear. The child in the meantime was quite comfortable and slept all night. When morning came, the light broke upon me as in Jacob's experience. I was released of my fear, and the child recovered in a short time. We have had instantaneous healings of croup, abscessed ear, cholera morbus, influenza, and sore throat; also others that have taken longer, such as measles, fever, burns, broken arm, mumps, and financial problems.

In looking back, I see that these experiences have been but opportunities to prove God's love and healing power. Truly we have been happy; and each year brings us a greater sense of God's nearness and loving care. It is my prayer that I may express my gratitude in daily life by passing on to others some of the joy, love, and understanding of divine Principle that is mine through the study of Christian Science. I am grateful for class instruction, for membership in The Mother Church and activity in our branch church, and for all the good that is being made manifest in the world to-day.
