Twelve years ago Christian Science came to me, bringing me out of the land of the shadow of death into the glorious sunlight of Truth. From a little child I had suffered from various diseases, and for more than ten years from an internal growth with constant severe hemorrhage, which finally culminated in extreme nervous exhaustion with complications. Several physicians tried kindly and faithfully to relieve me, and at last told me an operation would be necessary; but I refused to submit to this, and felt almost hopeless.

In this dark hour an aunt wrote us telling of her own healing of diabetes through the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and offering to help me. Afterwards she came to us from her home in the West, and worked for me for four weeks, during which time I was completely and permanently healed. I was glad to be well, but was not interested in learning about the truth that had accomplished the miracle, so went on in the old material ways until at last illness and unhappiness forced me again to turn to God for help. This time I came humbly; and in two days, through the work of a faithful practitioner, I was lifted out of this condition of sickness and wretchedness and fear to the mountain top of spiritual blessedness and joy, and with a heart filled with gratitude and praise to the dear Father who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. One of the diseases destroyed at this time was chronic stomach trouble, which was said to have been caused by the strong remedies taken for other diseases, and from which I had suffered severely since early childhood. The attacks became more frequent and distressing, until for weeks at a time a liquid diet was all that could be taken. This condition was completely healed, and at once I commenced to eat whatever I wished, without fear and with no bad effects.

Since that time Christian Science has met my every need, physical, moral, spiritual, and financial, when understandingly applied, relief from physical ills being instantaneous many times, while at other times yielding more slowly to Truth; but for the slower healings I am grateful, as they compelled me to study our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health, more diligently, thus gaining a better understanding of the power and presence of God and the availability of Truth to meet our every need. Acute attacks of laryngitis and bronchitis have been quickly met through the work of practitioners. A badly sprained ankle was healed in three days, the pain instantly disappearing with my first declaration of the truth; and in two hours I was walking on the foot, doing the necessary work in the home.

Another healing was that of sore throat, with which I awakened one morning feeling extremely ill and barely able to speak aloud. I took the Christian Science Hymnal and commenced to sing the hymns, and before night I was entirely free. These are only a few of the many healings I have had, and I am most grateful for them all; but I am even more grateful for the spiritual uplifting that comes with the healings and for the regeneration that is taking place in character, freeing me from bondage to jealousy, envy, resentment, self-righteousness, sensitiveness, discouragement, pride, and other unlovely traits, and giving me higher ideals of life and service.—(Miss) Estelle Vilette Page, Concord, New Hampshire.
