A great sense of thankfulness and gratitude causes me to turn to our periodicals as a place to voice my sincere appreciation for the goodness of God, which has been proved to me in so many ways through the teachings of Christian Science.

My first healing was a physical one. I was accidentally burned on the entire side of the face. In the few weeks that I had known of Christian Science I had learned "the scientific statement of being" from page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I instantly declared this fact aloud many times. In a few hours help was lovingly given by a practitioner, and in three days the old skin dropped away, leaving no scars. I was very quickly and beautifully healed of influenza when there was great fear and dread all about me.

The business which members of my family are interested in was started when one member thought all material means had failed and knew of nothing but suicide to end it all. This one was asked to go to see a practitioner, who showed him that death does not bring God, since God is right here and there is no cause for fear. His outlook on life was quickly changed, and he then started business anew and realized where supply really comes from.

The physical healings are too numerous to mention, but the sense of real happiness and peace which Christian Science affords, is more and more wonderful. This clearer realization comes as a result of a study of the Bible and of our beloved Leader's writings. It would be impossible to express what her words mean to me. More and more the spiritual uplift and comfort which they give me make my gratitude unbounded for all that she sacrificed in giving us her revelation. Other parts of our great movement which help me and give opportunity for the overcoming of traits of character are the various branches of activity in the church work—work in the Sunday school and on the lecture and distribution committees.

I am exceedingly grateful for the privilege of class instruction, and for our Association meetings with a loyal teacher.—(Miss) Helen M. Burns, Rutherford, New Jersey.
