Christian Science healed me of chronic throat trouble, a great fear of hereditary tuberculosis, of the need for glasses, of floating kidney, and opened my eyes to my many faults and inspired the desire to correct them. It also made the birth of our little son an harmonious experience. He is now nine years old, and has never tasted medicine. When I have made this statement I have occasionally been asked, "Not even a laxative?" Of course I have answered, "Not even that."

This child has had many healings in Christian Science, but I wish to refer especially to the healing of bowlegs. He was born with this condition, but we thought he would outgrow it. He walked quite young and his legs grew worse, until at three years they appeared deformed. I tried to know the truth for him, but seemed to make no headway. One day I called on a friend, and she said that I should take the child to a surgeon and have his legs straightened by breaking them and putting them in casts. My answer was that I never used material means for healing, and that the child's legs would be straight. She made no reply, but her look said plainly that she had never heard such nonsense before.

On my way home I realized that I had made a statement which I must set to work at once to prove. I asked God to show me the way, and the following Wednesday I heard three testimonies of crooked teeth being straightened. This greatly encouraged me, and thereafter it seemed that every time I opened the Bible or "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I found a beautiful promise. Particularly helpful statements I found on pages 243 and 244 of Science and Health: "Inasmuch as God is good and the fount of all being, He does not produce moral or physical deformity; therefore such deformity is not real, but is illusion, the mirage of error;" also on page 423 of the same book, "Bones have only the substance of thought which forms them."

In just five days from the time I heard the testimonies mentioned above, someone said that the boy's legs were getting straight. I knew they were, and I went about with a great song of joy in my heart. In six weeks they were perfectly straight, and shortly after that I again called on my friend who had recommended surgical treatment. As soon as I took off the little boy's coat she exclaimed: "Why, your boy's legs are straight! Did Christian Science do that?" I said, "Yes, Christian Science did it," and she answered, "Then I want to be a Christian Scientist." I am joyously grateful for this and many other proofs that Christian Science, as discovered and founded by Mrs. Eddy, does heal and save. How thankful we should be to her for teaching us that God is the only power and for making Jesus' teachings practicable to us!—(Mrs.) Leona M. Williams, San Francisco, California.

I am grateful to God and to Mrs. Eddy for making my legs straight and for healing me of pneumonia last year. I had not known anything for four days, and once they thought I was passing on; but one morning I awoke at six o'clock healed, and was bathed and dressed and downstairs to breakfast at eight.—Mason L.
