[Written for the Sentinel]

Christian Science

Christian Science ! Let us ever
Seek its truths to light our way;
Fearing naught, and halting never,
Pressing onward day by day.
Praising God for such a treasure—
How it thrills our hearts to know
It is ours in rounded measure
And in giving it we'll grow!

It has stilled the ceaseless yearning
For the peace we could not find;
It has made us more discerning
Of the truth that all is Mind.
It has calmed the waves of sorrow
With its brave and sweet refrain,
And has brought the glad to-morrow
With its sunshine after rain.

It has brought with wondrous sweetness
Peace, and joy, and love sublime;
And we know of this completeness
Others too will share betime.
Doubt and fear no longer haunt us—
God is All, and close at hand;
Pain is naught, and cannot daunt us,
For with Principle we stand.
