In the fall of 1921 a very disagreeable affection of the mouth gave me a great deal of annoyance. I tried to handle the difficulty myself, but apparently it became worse so rapidly that I was obliged to call a Christian Science practitioner. For several days I could talk only with the greatest difficulty, and for about two weeks I was obliged to confine my diet to liquids. After about two weeks' treatment in Christian Science, a wisdom tooth began to trouble me, and, as I had known for some time that it should be extracted, I went to a dentist. He refused to draw the tooth, saying that he could not do so because I had a dreadul case of pyorrhea, and advised me to go to a specialist at once for treatment. I explained that I was having treatment in Christian Science, and he very pleasantly assured me that he did not mean to insist that I have medical treatment, as doctors only alleviate and do not claim to be able cure the disease. But he declined to draw the tooth until my mouth was in a healthy condition. This was on a Friday.

Immediatly afterwards I paid a visit to a practitioner and repeated to her what the dentist had said. On the following Monday practically every vestige of the disease had disappeared. On that day I returned to the dentist, and he drew my tooth without comment. I then asked him in what condition he found my mouth, and he admitted that it seemed perfectly healthy. He added that he had never seen a case that showed more pronounced symptoms of pyorrhea, but that it could not have been that disease because that could not be cured! To my recollection the disease manifested itself for over three weeks. There has never been the slightest return of the trouble since.

For over eight years Christian Science has been our all-sufficient aid in a family of five. Our two younger children have never been to a doctor, nor taken a drop of medicine. Many diseases have been overcome quickly and effectively through the understanding of God and of man's relation to Him, as revealed in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. In sickness it has proved an unfailing source of healing, and in every way it has been found a guide to harmony, in so far as we have put it into practice.

My entire life has been altered and uplifted by the study of Christian Science. As a member of an old-time orthodox church, I was for many years an active, but never satisfied, worker. This new understanding, which answers all my questions completely, has meant a renewal and revival of spiritual life far above the healings which have followed. Indeed I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy, whose inspired life and work have changed the meaning of all things for me. I am very appreciative of the Christian Science literature, which so often awakens me to some unheeded truth, especially for The Christian Science Monitor, with its excellent presentation of the news of the world. All the activities of the Christian Science movement, so wisely set in operation by our beloved Leader, have meant much to me in my journey from sense to Soul, and it is with a heart full of loving gratitude that I send this testimony as to the healing efficacy and spiritual power of Christian Science.

(Mrs.) Lucy S. Galbraith, Phoenix, Arizona.

I am glad of this opportunity to corroborate the statements of my wife in regard to her healing of a most pronounced infection, commonly known as pyorrhea, through the application of the teachings and practice of Christian Science. I am glad of this opportunity also to express gratitude for the blessings Christian Science has brought to us in every instance, on every occasion, under many different conditions and surroundings, when we have really sought for and applied the truth as we are taught through Mrs. Eddy's discovery.—William James Galbraith
