I wish to express my sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science. This wonderful truth came to me at a time when life seemed dark indeed. I had lost all faith in God, owing to the fact that my constant prayer for one suffering in my home remained unanswered. The first ray of hope gleamed when I began to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I found God to be infinite Love, and that man is made in His image and likeness, spiritual and not material; that as we honestly endeavor to turn to Spirit and away from matter, we find the solution to every problem.

Although I had not thought of physical healing for myself, during the first few days of this study I was healed of inflammation of the nose and throat, for which I had been having medical treatment. The remedy prescribed was forgotten, so engrossed was I in this newly discovered truth. Glasses, which I had worn, off and on, for seven years, and was using constantly at this time for reading and all close work, were discarded.

With the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed of concussion caused by a carriage accident. I was unconscious for over an hour, and then suffered intense pain in my head for eight or ten hours before I could get into communication with a practitioner. As soon as treatment started the pain stopped. My face, which was badly bruised and discolored, was entirely healed by the fourth day. The conditions were such that had it not been for Christian Science I might have been disfigured for many weeks. A sprained ankle was healed recently in a few hours through the earnest study of the Lesson-Sermon. I have also been greatly helped over extreme sensitiveness through the realization of God as the Father of all. Mrs. Eddy says on pages 469 and 470 of Science and Health, "With one Father, even God, the whole family of man would be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good, the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth, and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which constitute divine Science."

Perhaps that for which I am most grateful is the absolute reliance upon God's government which Christian Science is giving me. This has completely healed me of the desire to make plans. I am able to rest in the knowledge that God's plan for me is wiser than any I can form for myself.

I am very grateful for membership with The Mother Church and with a branch church; also for class instruction, the value of which I appreciate more and more each day.

Through the consecrated thought of Mrs. Eddy this healing and regenerating truth, taught and practiced by Christ Jesus, has been rediscovered and given to the world; and for this I am deeply grateful.—(Mrs.) K. Sheila Mackenzie, Tweedie, Natal, South Africa.
