As I have received so much good from the testimonies...

As I have received so much good from the testimonies published in our Christian Science literature, I am in hopes that my humble effort in this may help some one who is in need. Some time ago, while walking hurriedly, I started down a flight of cement steps, which I had seen some days before were completed and electric lights in place. I assumed that all was ready for traffic, and that I remembered just the manner of the approach to the steps. But the lights were not on; I missed the approach, stepped off over the steps, and fell forward down them — say about nine feet. The first sensation while falling was that I should break a leg. Instantly, however, these lines of a hymn came to me as a positive assurance: —

"That hand which bears creation up
Shall guard His children well."

When I came to consciousness I was lying on my back full length, feet to the steps, and I had the sensation that I could not lift my head. Again came the words, "Shall guard His children well." Within a very few minutes I was up, though somewhat dazed and unsteady; but when I had gone a block, working mentally as we are taught in Christian Science to do, I found that my thought was perfectly clear, and I was free from pain and discomfort. Later there was some soreness in my hands and wrist joints. I do not remember exactly how long it was before all sense of soreness had disappeared, but it was a very short time — not much more than a week, if any.

I cannot adequately express my gratitude to our beloved Leader for her pure life, which enabled her to discover and give to the world this great truth that is proving that they who worship God must worship Him "in spirit and in truth." — Elisha C. Moore, Corpus Christi, Texas.
