In the year 1915, while on military duty I contracted an inguinal rupture on my right side, and the staff physician ordered me to wear a truss. At that time I did not know of Christian Science. When the war was over, I continued to wear the bandage, believing that without it I could not stand the pain caused by the rupture. In the fall of 1920 I became interested in Christian Science. After I had studied the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for a while, it became clear to me that I, as the child of God, could not have the ailment referred to. I tried to move about without the truss, but the difficulty again got the better of me; and so I decided to ask a Christian Science practitioner for help. After five treatments the rupture and the sickness disappeared.

I am inexpressibly grateful to God and to Christian Science for this healing and many other blessings which my family and I have received. I also cherish a feeling of deep gratitude towards our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
