Funds of The Mother Church
The following letters were sent to the Editorial Department by the Treasurer of The Mother Church, on April 10, 1920, with a request for publication in the Christian Science Sentinel:—
"Am inclosing my check for per capita tax for the present year. Am happy that I can make it more than I ever before felt able. My husband and I have been blessed in a fuller realization that divine Love supplies all our needs and this is a small token of my gratitude for Christian Science."
"Inclosed find check for twelve dollars to be applied on The Christian Science Benevolent Association fund. It is given with gratitude and rejoicing for the blessings which have come to us through Christian Science."
"Through the teachings of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I am learning more each day how to accept the good that God is ever giving, and that one way of expressing gratitude is by giving. Inclosed find check for twenty dollars, which is a small token of gratitude, to be applied to The Christian Science Benevolent Association fund. Last summer I had the pleasure of visiting the buildings and grounds of this Association for which I am very grateful."
"As an expression of gratitude for our many benefits in healings and the spiritual light as to God and man as Mind and idea, we inclose a check for ten dollars to be used for The Christian Science Benevolent Association."
"We are inclosing a check for forty dollars to be divided equally between The Christian Science Benevolent Association fund and the Real Estate fund. We are sending this in deep gratitude for the many, many blessings received daily through Christian Science, and our hearts go out in love and thankfulness to God and to our dearly beloved Leader for this blessed truth."
"I am inclosing herewith check for six dollars; one dollar is for my per capita tax for the year, the other five I wish to have placed in The Christian Science Benevolent Association fund, for the many blessings I have received since studying Christian Science. I am grateful for the wisdom and understanding grateful for the happiness and harmony and peace that I find in being obedient to the law of God. I am grateful to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for showing us the way. I have had many beautiful demonstrations. The proof of one Father came to me in the healing of my only son when he joined the navy. When I said, 'Thy will be done,' I could 'loose him and let him go.' "
