Among the Churches

Current Notes

New York, N. Y.—A new church to be known as Eighth Church of Christ, Scientist, New York city, has been organized and began holding services Sunday, December 8, 1918, in the Subway Building, Eighty-sixth Street and Lexington Avenue. This is the twentieth organization of this denomination in Greater New York, the second to be organized in Manhattan in 1918 and the only one situated on the East Side.—New York Telegraph.

Clarksdale, Miss.—The Christian Science Society, now holding services in the McWilliams Building, has purchased a lot on the corner of West Second and Choctaw Streets. There is now a small building, unsuitable for church purposes, on the lot, but the society intends, at an early date, to remove this and erect a church edifice.

Fullerton, Calif.—One of the substantial improvements of which Fullerton will be able to boast in the near future is the Christian Science church to be built on Pomona Avenue between Chapman and Whiting Avenues. It is expected that the new structure will cost about twenty thousand dollars and will be modern in every respect. Work will be started soon, and it is hoped the building will be ready for occupancy some time in the fall.—Fullerton News.
